Things - A Simple Task Management Application
If you are like most, your
to-do list (psychical and/or mental) most could use some
help in maintaing it. I have tried many applications over
the last ten years trying to help me organize and maintain
a to-list that is actually helpful and not getting in the
way. In other words a program that is simple without the
expense of missing powerful features.
I finally found one, it is called Things, a task management
application for Mac OS X. Things is
currently in beta testing with a release planned this
summer. It seems a lot better suited to my way of
thinking/working than the other programs I used over
time. The learning curve is rather small with
Things allowing me to be up and running
very quickly. I recommend you give it a try if you’re
looking for an elegant GTD-style
application.
What is GTD? From Wikipedia: "Getting
Things Done, commonly abbreviated as GTD, is an action
management method, and the title of a book by David Allen.
GTD rests on the principle that a person needs to move
tasks out of the mind by recording them somewhere. That
way, the mind is freed from the job of remembering
everything that needs to be done, and can concentrate on
actually performing those tasks." Click here to read more about GTD.
